At Empower Parenthood Project, NFP, our mission is to nurture families and strengthen communities in DeKalb, Illinois. We firmly believe that every child deserves a healthy, happy, and comfortable start in life. By alleviating the burden of diaper insecurity, we empower parents to prioritize their child's well-being and development, fostering a brighter future for our community as a whole.

Meet Our Team 

At the heart of our mission to make a lasting impact in our community is a team of dedicated young professionals who share a common passion for creating positive change.

Kendall Hampton 

Founder

Kendall is a dedicated graduate student and graduate research assistant from DeKalb, IL. With a deep-rooted passion for her community and a commitment to making a positive impact, Kendall founded Empower Parenthood Project to address the cyclical hardships faced by families in DeKalb County. She is driven by a desire to empower parents and create lasting change, providing essential resources and support to uplift and connect the community. Kendall is on a mission to foster resilience, promote well-being, and create brighter futures for families in DeKalb.



Malia Jones

Vice President

Malia is a DeKalb resident, currently working as a Family and Community Engagement Specialist for Birth to Five Illinois. She has an unwavering commitment to bridging gaps within the community and creating pathways for children and families to not only survive but thrive. Malia's expertise extends to coordinating community events and managing projects. As a mother herself, Malia plans to use her skills, insight, and innovative mindset  to further the mission of Empower Parenthood Project. Her goal is to generate collaboration and bring equitable solutions to families in need. 

Kenneth Wolfrum

Treasurer

Kenneth is a graduate student, graduate research assistant, and resident of DeKalb, IL with a background in data analytics, consulting, and strategic planning. Kenneth seeks to bring this expertise to the non-profit sector with the goal of increasing its capacity to serve those in need. His contributions within Empower Parenthood Project are directly aimed at accomplishing this goal. 

Alina Mohr

Secretary 

Alina is from DeKalb, IL, and currently working as a certified medical assistant for Northwestern Medicine. She is planning to further her education by pursuing a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. Alina’s passion lies with helping the underserved and advocating for accessibility to healthcare. These passions are the reason she joined Empower Parenthood Project. She hopes that her contributions to the organization will help families live a healthier life.
